Meet Dr. Hannah Anderson

Hello! I’m Dr. Hannah Anderson, and I think you were intentionally designed to be healthy. Because I’m a total nerd, I can’t stop myself from spending hours and hours learning about the human body, natural health care, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and pediatric care.

In a nutshell:

  • I’m a Palmer College graduate.

  • I specialize in pediatrics and women’s health (ICPA certified).

  • My clinical approach involves addressing structural, neurological, nutritional, and emotional aspects of health.

The long version:

I earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Luther College, where I also met my husband before moving on to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa. During my years in grad school and shortly after, I finished two additional years of education in Webster technique, pediatrics, prenatal, and family care from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). This explains the extra CACCP letters after my name and why I’m your go-to doc for babies, kids, moms-to-be, and postpartum care. I had my own two babies at home with some amazing midwives and had a great experience. My pregnancy, and journey as Margot & Frankie’s mom has given me an entirely new appreciation for the capabilities of the female body, and a belief that all moms deserve a gold medal for even getting to the office on time with everyone in one piece (forgetting shoes or a diaper bag still counts). I’ll do my best to make mom-life easier for you in any way that I can.

As a teenager I experienced mood swings and was introduced to Neuroemotional Technique which helps alleviate emotional stress from the body. As soon as I was licensed, I took the N.E.T. training because I’m a big believer that the body keeps the score — I.e. we all hold unprocessed stress and it can affect our physiology even if mentally we think we are doing fine.

Outside of the clinic you’ll find me with 2 kids and a small dog, doing pickups and drop offs, playing sand volleyball, and trying to garden, while somehow finding time to exercise and do art projects with my kids. I simultaneously do NOT want to be busy, but LOVE doing a million things. The struggle is real. Mostly I like to be caught up in an intense game of Barbie-superhero-mystery-crime fighter-explorer with my two best gals, Margot and Frankie.

I’m trained as a BIRTHFIT coach, and have previously taught prenatal and postpartum fitness and rehabilitation classes. I love to help Cedar Rapids and corridor moms through the motherhood transition. I’m particularly passionate about postpartum care (fitness, rehab, nutrition) which is virtually non-existent in our society. I also occasionally moonlight at Kirkwood College as an Anatomy and Physiology adjunct professor.
