The power that made the body, heals the body.
Chiropractic Adjustments for ALL ages
Chiropractic is not the treatment of conditions or disease; rather, it is the restoration of normal body function. Chiropractic adjustments reduce stress-related interference to the nervous system, and enhance overall body function. Every system in the body — circulatory, digestive, eliminatory, hormonal, glandular, immunological, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal — depends on the optimal function of the nervous system. Millimeters of movement within a joint (in the wrong direction) can reduce nervous system function, swelling, and limited range of motion. Chiropractic adjustments are a non-invasive way to help not only pain, but whole body function. Your body already has the answer. You were intentionally designed to heal. Utilizing chiropractic care makes way for the body to heal itself rather than from the chiropractor’s adjustment.
Dr. Anderson is uniquely trained to evaluate and care for pregnant women and pediatric patients. In most cases, babies can be adjusted as soon as their first day of life, and chiropractic care is safe for nearly all pregnant women. Her additional certification (CACCP) from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association was invaluable training for children of all ages, and expecting mothers. Dr. Anderson is certified in the Webster Technique.
TECHNIQUES
Dr. Hannah Anderson is trained in the following techniques:
Motion palpation: diagnostic technique used by the doctor of chiropractic to locate joint dysfunction within the spinal column and extremities. Based on the joint fixation in the spine, this technique allows us to adjust the spine without the use of x-ray (unless trauma/health history/exam indicate medical necessity). It’s what we use to feel how things move with our own two hands.
Diversified: After analyzing your spine, leg checks may be performed to uncover an imbalance in the neck or lower spine. With the malposition of one or more spinal bones identified, a specific manual thrust is administered. The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used is the result of years of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics. The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of air in the joint. This sound may be interesting, but is not a guide as to the value or effectiveness of the adjustment. While improving spinal biomechanics can reduce nervous system interferences, virtually all joints of the body can be adjusted to help restore proper range of motion.
Thompson: This is a more gentle system of analysis prouduces precise adjustments and high levels of patient comfort. What patients often notice first is our segmental “drop” table. Individual cushions or “drop pieces” located along our table surface, support each area of your spine until the thrust is delivered. Then, each drop-piece gently gives way, reducing the amount of energy needed to move a specific spinal segment.
Gonstead: Dr. Clarence Gonstead,’s “foundation principle” explains how a vertebral subluxation complex pattern in one area of the spine can produce compensatory changes in another. When you are seated, we can restore the integrity of your spine without twisting or rotating your neck. Sometimes you’ll hear a slight “popping” sound that we call cavitation. Sometimes you won’t. Either way, better health is on the way!
Activator: This technique is very gentle and commonly used for children. An activator tool utilizes speed, rather than force, in a very specific location. The activator tool is adjustable, allowing the intensity to be dialed down for small (or sensitive) bodies.
